If you want to add a little extra pep to your looks in Fortnite, head to the Item Shop, where you can buy skins. There are a few things you should keep in mind. Find out what you need to know here.
The store in Fortnite
Before buying a skin, you should be aware that it is purely cosmetic and has no other use. For this, however, Epic Games requires a lot of money.
In addition to purchasing skins for your character, the store also offers various harvesting tools, as well as emotes and dances.
If you have decided on an item and want to buy it, a currency called V-Buck is required for it.
You can either save yourself the trouble in the free mode, earn it with the Battle Pass or in PvE mode, or you can purchase V-Bucks with hard cash, i.e. real money.
The prices for this are high. 1,000 V-Bucks currently cost around 10 euros, 2,800 V-Bucks around 25 euros, 7,500 V-Bucks 60 euros, and 13,500 V-Bucks even cost 100 euros.
These V-Buck packages are currently on sale. There is also the so-called starter package, which includes a unique skin and 600 V-Bucks.
The prices in the item shop
At first, this sounds like a considerable amount of play money. However, if you compare this with the prices for individual skins, a single skin costs up to 20 euros!
The purchase of the skins can be very expensive!
The items are only available for one day but change constantly so that you can purchase the skin of your dreams at a later date.
The prices differ depending on the rarity. Unusual skins (green) cost around 800 V-Bucks, rare skins (blue) 1,200 V-Bucks, epic skins (purple) 1,500 V-Bucks, and legendary skins (orange) 2,000 V-Bucks.
The same applies to the harvesting tools and hang gliders. Epic pickaxes cost you 1,500 V-Bucks, rare 800 V-Bucks, and unusual 500 V-Bucks. This also applies to the hang glider.
The emotes are a little cheaper because here you "only" have to spend 200 V-Bucks for unusual moves, 500 V-Bucks for rare moves, and 800 V-Bucks for epic dance steps.
The alternatives to the shop
If you don't want to look like the others but look just as good on the battlefield, we not only recommend a few tips and tricks to get better at Fortnite but also alternatives.
PS4 users can download the "Team Blue Leader" skin free of charge from the PSN Store as PSPlus users.
If you don't shy away from a few extra steps, you can even secure two free skins and a hang glider thanks to the cooperation between Fortgag and Fortnite.
In this case, all you need to do is have a Fortgag account and link it to your "Epic Games" account. Don't worry, Fortgag is offering a free trial month. You can cancel the subscription at any time.
